Larry Yazzie

WHAT A GREAT DAY!  The P.A.I.N.T. Grant money helped us bring in Larry Yazzie who is a Native American Dancer.  The students learned so much today!  They learned about a Native American regalia, song and dance.  They even learned some good dance moves.  After we returned to the classroom, we discussed the homework (Pink) sheet which they brought home last Friday.  The students are to write down what symbols represent  pride in their own culture.  Larry ended his program having the students chant: I am Special.  I am Powerful.  I am a Leader!  Please help your student understand and learn more about your families culture and traits so they develop more pride in who they are.

Rendezvous

Besides being cold, we had a fabulous time learning about life from the 1700's.  The Native Americans and Fur Traders had a different life than we do today.  The student were even able to meet Rich Murray and Todd Pierson.  Rich is our Representative and Todd is from the Perpich Arts Group.
